History

In 1968 a group of concerned parents and citizens of Yolo County recognized the need for a work environment for the developmentally disabled. While the need for meaningful work is as necessary as ever, the emphasis now is less on sheltered work and more on integrated supported employment in the community.

A Message from Alice Tapley (Executive Director)

Welcome to Yolo Employment Services website. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to take a look at the different programs we have been providing for more than 50 years.  Over the past 5 decades we have witnessed along with the individuals we serve, a total transformation.  Where once there was a system that relegated people to back rooms of institutions, we now see individuals enjoying full inclusion in their communities of choice.  As we continue to provide these programs, services and support, we at the same time continue to treat individuals with disabilities with dignity and respect so that each one will reach their maximum potential.  Being the Executive Director for the past twenty years I can truly say that Yolo Employment Services has positioned itself to be one of the premiere programs in the State of California.
